January Update

January brought lots of cold weather outside and lots of fun activities inside at SMA!  Just because it was too cold to play outside, that didn't stop us from bringing the blizzard inside with our Blizzard Day.  Every class participated in all our fun blizzard day centers.  The kiddos searched for matching mittens in real (polymer) snow and made paint tracks in the snow, just like Peter in The Snowy Day.  They loved making snowball soap to take home for a nice warm bath and making winter scenes from lots of edible goodies.  Thanks to donations from all our parents, we had a huge igloo made from milk jugs for the children to take turns playing inside.  And last but not least, we had a huge snowball fight with paper snow and snowballs!

We also had a visit from Dr. Stephen.  He brought us all kinds of dress up surgery gear and talked with us about what a doctor does all day.  Everyone got a chance to check their pulse and ask lots of questions.  Thanks to Dr. Stephen and his nurse for taking the time to come to SMA!  We loved it!!
