Our July Day Camp was so much fun!! Our theme was "Let's have a picnic" and we had a blast! We began our day by playing with all our friends. It is so much fun to see our friends that we don't see as often in the summer. We rotated with our group through four centers. The first center was our circle time/snack center. Ms. Kelly and Ms. Kim read books about summer and picnics. Then we made our very own lemonade! We all got a turn squeezing the lemons to make the lemonade. We then enjoyed it with goldfish crackers. Y.U.M.! We had two craft and game centers. In one we made our lemonade pitcher paintings. It was lots of fun stamping "lemon shapes" onto the pitcher with Ms. Diane. We also colored and glued to make cool snow cones. We all had a different flavor... We played a game where we had to toss picnic foods and try to get them into the picnic basket. We also played a game where we had to decide which things went into a picnic basket and which didn't. Can you believe Ms. Cindy tried to put an elephant in our picnic basket??? In our second craft/game center, Ms Julie Beth and Ms. Kara helped us paint plates with "ketchup" and "mustard". We played a popsicle matching game and matched upper and lower case letters. We also got to set a picnic table with plates matching small and large plates with different letters and shapes. We are ready for school to start back - we know it all!! Our bible story center was all about a picnic in the Bible. Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Blake (our youth intern at Spring Meadows Church) told us the story of Jesus sharing a little boy's picnic lunch with a very large crowd. Only Jesus could perform such a miracle and make that one little lunch feed so many. We made little baskets and filled them with bread and gummy fish. Then we got to eat our treats! Ms. Rebecca also taught us lots of spanish picnic words (she teaches high school spanish). How cool! Ms. Susan took us all outside in the middle of our day for recess. Our favorite part was the balloon activity - we even got to sit on the balloons and pop them! We finished our day with popsicles again! Thanks for sending us to SMA's day camp! Hope you weren't too bored without us all day!! August day camp is August 4th - our theme is "Back to School". Stay tuned....
***Special thanks to all our teachers and helpers who volunteered their time to spend the day with all our kiddos! You are all amazing blessings to SMA!
***Our Summer Day Camps are all full at this time. We plan to add additional days next summer to better serve our parents and students!
