Curriculum Basics
The following skills will be taught in the appropriate age class throughout the year. Our goal will be to work towards mastering the skills appropriate for each age group.
2 year olds
Beginning coloring skills
Identify colors
Social/interpersonal skills
Motor Skills through the use of various manipulatives
3 and 4 year olds
In addition to the above skills:
Beginning scissor skills
Verbal and written spelling of their first name
Letter recognition (upper case)
Beginning Handwriting using the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum workbook
Number recognition (1-10)
Beginning math skills (counting, sorting, etc.)
Spatial Concepts (opposites, time, position, etc.)
Pre-K
In addition to the above skills:
Enhanced scissor skills
Writing first name
Letter recognition of both upper and lower case letters (includes the ability to write the letters)
Memorization of birthday, phone number and address
Story sequencing
Advancement of counting skills and pre-math skills
Introduction to “sight words” including our optional "Baggie Book" program that we begin after Christmas Break
